Charles Kip Early, jack of all trades, amazing father and loving husband, Christmas light fanatic, chokecherry jelly maker, and junk food junkie with a unique sense of humor, was born in Greeley, CO to H. Keith and Doris (Cantrell) Early. He was raised on a farm outside of Kersey, CO and attended Platte Valley Schools, graduating in 1966. He also attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling.
On February 13, 1971, he married his wife Cheryl (Merideth) in Cheyenne. They moved to Nunn in 1974, raising their children, Keith (Julie), Merideth, Jon, Morganne (Stephen) and Katie (Will). They shared 39 wonderful years together.
Kip recently celebrated his 30th anniversary as an agent for American National Insurance in Greeley. He took pride in providing individualized service to all of his clients. His work nurtured him throughout his life.
Kip is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his children Keith, Merideth, Morganne, and Katie, his grandchildren, Justin, Emily, Hannah, Christopher, and Zachary. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry (Marilyn), Dick (Gwen), and Ross, and sisters, Jeannie, and Kay (Terry), and many close friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jon, and by his parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kip’s name to the Nunn Fire Department, Nunn, Colorado or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ault, Colorado in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
Visitation 6-7 p.m. Thursday followed by Recitation of the Rosary at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 267 E. 4th St., Ault, CO 80610.
