Judith Carol (Marksville) Golodner, age 86, of New Hyde Park, New York passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022. Judith is survived by her devoted son Keith Alan Gregory. Judith was preceded in death by her daughter Jane Louise Golodner and her son Daniel Jay Golodner.
Judy, as she was known to her friends and family, received her Diploma in Nursing from New York Medical College Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospital. She later received her Bachelor's’ degree in Arts and Sciences from C.W. Post Long Island University. Judy worked as a Registered Nurse at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and later at Deepdale General Hospital in Little Neck New York. Following her work as a Nurse, Judy worked in the Administrative Nursing Division of The Travelers Insurance Company. After her retirement, Judy donated her time working with children in a Center for Child Welfare located in Great Neck.
Judy was an avid reader of biographies as well as history books. She enjoyed watching old movies, attending cultural events, and visiting museums. In particular, she loved going antiquing and collecting netsukes and other small treasures.
As a younger woman, Judy was Captain of a bowling team winning many seasonal competitions. After her move to Great Neck, Judy could often be found on the Tennis Court and seen around Town wearing her Tennis Whites.
Giving to Charity was one of Judy’s great passions. Each year, she gave what she could to more than 15 large and small charities. Judy believed in giving gifts to those people she encountered in Life whether through her business dealings or to her family and friends. She enjoyed giving gifts even more than receiving them.
Judy had a wonderful laugh and great sense of humor. All those who met her were touched by her generosity of spirit and kindness. Judy will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Services will take place Wednesday, December 28th at 11:30 am at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 83-45 Cypress Hills Street , Glendale, NY 11385.
