Mary Alma Bond-Fairbairn, 80, passed away on July 13, 2022 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mary was born on November 23, 1941 in Waco, Texas, to Miller and Mary Bond. She attended Pampa High School and Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Mary spent her childhood in Houston and moved to Dallas in her early teens.
She attended her first semester of college at the University of Texas in Austin, where she met Grady on a blind date and the rest is history.
Her proudest moment was being a bride to Grady on September 16, 1961. She told everyone, her greatest accomplishments were to have had 3 wonderful children and 3 perfect Grandchildren. Mary lived for social gatherings, whether hosting or attending, she craved the rituals of hair, makeup, fashion, and fun. She taught her daughters that beauty knows no pain, she would sleep on satin pillow cases to protect her hair, and oh what exquisite naturally curly hair she had. She taught her son that sharp dressed men have more fun. Mary, Mary, quite contrary - she coined that one. She was proud, bold, outspoken, and sassy. We love her and will miss her dearly.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Grady L. Fairbairn. She is survived by: daughter, Sherri Lynn Redick & husband Gary Redick; son, James A. Fairbairn & wife Alice; daughter, Elizabeth Marks & husband Scott; grandchildren, Austin J. Fairbairn, Breana L. Fairbairn, and Savana E. Marks.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at JE Foust Funeral Home. Committal Service: Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 10:15 AM at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
