Karen Diane McGuire

Karen was born in Amarillo, TX to Ervin and Doris Aukes. As a child of an active military family, she had the opportunity to travel to and live in many different states and countries. She graduated from Jacksonville (AR) High School in 1972. Soon after, she moved to Dallas and made Texas her life-long home.

Karen married Danny McGuire in 1991 and began a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Danny and Karen enjoyed boating and fishing trips, vacations to Sturgis on their Harley Davidson, starting and running new businesses together, riding their four wheelers, and cooking for friends, neighbors, and family at their beautiful home near Grapevine Lake.

Karen’s zeal for life was reflected in her style, which glittered almost as brightly as she did. She was never one to pass up an opportunity to wear her gold lamé pants, beaded tops, and turquoise jewelry, regardless of the purpose of the outing. There was never too much bling.

A few years after Danny’s death, Karen met Russ. Despite health issues that limited her mobility, she found joy as his “sweetie” sitting on the patio, discussing all the latest news, and welcoming the neighbors as they wandered over.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Danny; her parents, Ervin and Doris; and her brother-in- law, Mike Stenger. She is lovingly and fondly remembered by Russ; her sister, Jamie Stenger; her niece, Lauren Tucker (Logan); her nephews, Will and Cael Stenger; and many cousins, countless friends, and devoted neighbors.
