Judy Kemp Mulholland, a resilient and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2024. Born on July 2, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas to George and Evelyn Kemp, Judy grew up and raised her family in Arlington, Texas. The youngest of two children from a broken home, Judy grew up fast. With the guidance and love of her older brother Jerry Kemp, with whom she had a deep bond, she developed a toughness that would serve her throughout her life. Yet, despite the many challenges she faced, she always stood tall, carrying her family forward with unshakable determination.
In 1977, Judy met the love of her life and married Doug Mulholland. Together, they raised three boys—Bryan (Kristi), Doug Jr. (Tracee), and Michael (Jessica) —who kept her on her toes but filled her heart with immense pride. Judy’s home was never quiet, but it was always filled with laughter, love, and the rambunctious energy of her sons.
Judy’s legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren—Jack, Brooke, Kyleigh, Nick, Cooper, Haley, and Braden—and her two great-grandchildren, Tate and Tripp. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished the time spent with each of them, always quick to share a story from the past or a nugget of wisdom.
She was known not only for her toughness but also for her unwavering love for her family and friends. Those who knew her well saw the depth of her kindness and the fierce loyalty she had for those she loved. Even after the passing of her beloved Doug in March 2024, Judy carried on with quiet strength, finding solace in the love of her family, friends, and church.
Judy Kemp Mulholland was a woman of incredible strength and deep roots. She was part of a proud lineage as a sixth-generation Texan and a direct descendant of Collin McKinney who helped forge the Republic of Texas. Her heritage was a source of pride, and she embodied the spirit and grit that have defined Texans for generations. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and love that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, forever reunited with her beloved Doug.
