Our beloved John passed away in his home in Euless, Texas the early morning of May 20, 2022, with his wife and a few dear friends by his side after a long on and off battle with Melanoma Cancer. John was born in Cortez Colorado on July 12, 1962. He lived in Montezuma Creek, Utah until he turned the age of 13 when he and his family moved to Texas. John graduated high school in Mildred Texas in 1980.
In his early years John loved riding horses, team roping, horse shows, and rodeo, he spoke often of his fond memories of those times. He later moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where he met and married Pam on Dec. 31, 1993. John was the love of Pam’s life as she was his, together they lived life fully and loved deeply. John also enjoyed school and learning and soon after marriage, he gained his Electronic Engineering degree from DeVry graduating with honors, then later a BA in Business from Dallas Baptist University.
John had a contagious smile and the gentlest heart of anyone. He loved life, deeply loved the Lord, his family, friends, traveling, fixing anything, and simply being in the country and admiring God’s creation. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten and will continue to hold a very special place in everyone’s heart that knew him.
Survived in death by his loving wife, Pamela L. Hays of Euless, Texas, and his mother, Margaret (Margie) E. Hays of Corsicana, Texas, his sisters, Carla M. Clever and husband Norman of Pleasant View Colorado, Joella (Dodi) L. Burnitz and husband Chuck of Aguanga, California, Norma (Nomi) L. Caltagirone and husband Butch of Corsicana Texas, also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his father, J. Fielding Hays II of Corsicana Texas, brother Donald R. Just of Cortez, Colorado and grandmother, Bernice Carter of Cisco, Texas.
The memorial service will be at 2:00pm at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors (523 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051). A celebration of life and light hors d'oeuvres will be served immediately following the service.
