An active member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church (WCUMC), Connie served on the Administrative Board, the board of the Chapel Hill Preschool, the Committee for a Columbarium at WCUMC, and taught bible studies for many years. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and “Nana.” She and her husband of 68 years, Gerald “Jerry” Montague, enjoyed playing golf, sailing, and especially traveling.
Mom was preceded in death by Jerry, her father, Wiley Marks, and her mother, Emma Merritt Marks, of Salt Lake City, UT, her sisters, Marjorie Marks Draney of Salt Lake City, Betty Marks Russell of Whittier, CA, Jean Marks Potter of Fresno, CA, Doris Marks Barnes of Idaho Falls, ID, and her brother, Blaine Marks of Sandpoint, ID.
She is survived by her sisters, Maxine Marks Yeats of Spokane, WA, Marcille Marks Bonham of Salt Lake City, her son Brian Montague and his wife Deb of Rochester Hills, MI, and son Steve Montague and his wife Janet of Justin, TX. She was Nana to Dana, Christopher, Lindsey, Alyssa, and Scott. Great Nana to Levi.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 30th at White’s Chapel Methodist Church. Connie’s ashes will be inurned in niche G28 at the White’s Chapel columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Missions at White’s Chapel UMC, 185 S. White’s Chapel Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092.
