Shanen grew up in Wimer and attended Wimer and ROgue River schools. He began working at Bettencourt Furniture and moved to Portland where he worked at Union Floor Company, and Beaverton Wood Floors where he learned the flooring trade. He returned to Southern Oregon and established his own flooring business.
Shanen enjoyed woodworking and loved cars and motorcycles. He was very mechanically gifted, and could fix almost anything. He loved helping people and loved his family very much.
Shanen is survived by his son, Steven Broc Leach, of Central Point, daughter, Marley Dawn Smith, of Vancouver, WA; partner, Letitia “Tisha” McQueary; mother and step-father, Kathie and Bill Philp, of Jacksonville; father, Steven Leach, of Grants Pass; brother Dewayne Leach, of Grants Pass; step-sons, Deegan Mussa, of Central Point, and Jesse McQueary, of Roseburg, OR. He is also survived by ex-wife, Alisha Batchelor and 2 grandchildren, Ranger and Oakley, all of Vancouver, WA.
Shanen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arlin and Katherine Stafford and Phil and Wynona Leach, and also a cousin Thomas (Tommy) Agee.
Shanen will be truly missed by all who knew him. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.
