Marvin Jay Klunder, age 74, went to be with his Lord Friday, January 13, 2023. Marv was preceded in death by his parents Marvin John and Geraldine Klunder. He will be remembered by his wife of 53 years, Linda Klunder; children Julie (Jade) Rossback, Cheryl (Larry) Maxwell, Brenda (Jasper) Ampey; grandchildren Nolan Rossback, Landon Rossback, and Alex Maxwell; sisters Sue (Eric) Gladding, Sharon (Richard) Algra; brother, James Klunder; brother-in-law, James Dreyer; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Marv had a great love of golf and would play as often as he could. In the colder months, he would travel to warmer climates with hopes of getting to play a few holes. As much as he loved golf, he loved his family more. He was so proud of his daughters; their husbands were like the sons he never had. Then, there are the grandsons. He hardly ever missed one of their events. When he would speak of them, a little tear would roll down his cheek. That was Marv, a big man with a bigger heart.
A Celebration Mass of Marv’s Life will commence at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 with visitation one hour prior at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 2230 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Father Mark Peacock will be officiating. In honor of Marv and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A private family burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
