Johnny’s family meant the world to him, and the love he gave them was returned in abundance. Known for his meticulous care of his beautiful yard, he found joy in nurturing every blade of grass, flower, and tree - a reflection of his caring and gentle spirit. He had a special place in his heart for animals, treating each with kindness and compassion. John served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1965, and he carried that sense of honor and dedication throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in those who knew and loved him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Wilford; siblings Tommy, Denny, Faye, and Charmaine; and grandchild, Johnny Crittendon.
Johnny will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Rose Crittendon; children Kim Buchholz, Tim (Pam) Crittendon, and Kim Belstra; grandchildren Karrah Waller, Curtis (Ashlee) Buchholz, Kandace (Kayla) Gross, Kasadie Crittendon, Logan (Alissa) Buchholz, Lauren (Jeremy) Buchholz, Jorja (Douglas) Buchholz, Kaden Buchholz; and great-grandchildren Beau Buchholz, John Bush, Carter Buchholz, Beckett Buchholz, and Emerson Buchholz. Johnny will also be remembered by his siblings Jodi and Terry Losey, and Michelle Haugen. His memory will always be loved and cherished.
Johnny’s final resting place will be Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA. The family welcomes memories and messages at wwwcookcaresgrandville.com in their online guestbook.
