She was born January 15, 1932 in Quincy, IL. Delores graduated from Quincy High School. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 702. Delores also volunteered at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. She retired from Best Products. She was a member of the Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ where she served on many committees. She enjoyed family, friends, the occasional joke, and traveling in the motorhome. She will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, John Wheelock; son, Jeffrey Wheelock; granddaughter, Kristina Dalstra; parents Pete and Leona Watson; brother, Dr. Larry Watson. She is survived by her daughters Linda Wheelock, Deb Dalstra, and Kim (Scott) VanOosterhout; five grandchildren Chad (Meg) Dalstra, Dan (Karen) Dalstra, Stephanie Tagg, Jake (Kristina) Smigiel, and Jessica (Kevin) McConnell; 13 great-grandchildren Aaron (Katie) Myers, Kamerin, Kaitlin, and Koda Tagg, Lyssa and Lily Dalstra, Lauren, Erin, and Andrew Dalstra, and Conrad, Gemma, and Leona Smigiel; great-great-grandchildren Aubrey and Landon Myers; sister-in-law, Sylvia Baxter; special family friend, Tim Rollin; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024 at Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ – 4950 32nd Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426. Pastor Dan Furman will be officiating. Interment will be at Floral View Memorial Gardens. In honor of Delores and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ.
