Danny Ray Geoghegan

Dan Geoghegan was born on July 26, 1950 in Louisville, KY. Dan graduated from Portage High School and was married to Susan Kay Wood and had two sons. Dan had a successful career as a sales professional in retail and automotive for 30 plus years, spending much of his career with Meijer & Berger Chevrolet. Dan has served for a number of years on the board of directors of Vytautas Aid Society as the Associate Members' Representative, organizing many events such as the Children’s Christmas and Pulaski Day's celebrations. He will be deeply missed by the many friends he had there.

Preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lloyd Geoghegan, his mother, Beula Evelyn Lamkin Geoghegan; & the mother of his children, Susan Kay Wood Geoghegan.

Survived by his sons Kurt Geoghegan (Teresa) and their children Cameron, Hunter, and Drysen Geoghegan; Tim Geoghegan (Jodie) and their children Bryce and Brady Easton; his beloved brother, Steve Geoghegan; niece and nephew Cassie and Travis Geoghegan. He is also survived by his beloved friend and former wife Nancy L. Kalisz.

Members of the family will receive relatives and friends, at Cook Funeral Home - West (Grandville), 4235 Prairie Street on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m.

The family asks that you join them in a Celebration of Life gathering at the Vytautas Aid Society, 1300 Hamilton Ave., NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504, following the evening visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.

Dan was loved by many and his presence will be greatly missed. He was a loving father that looked forward to, and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
