Carolyn Joy Snyder

Carolyn "Corky" Joy Snyder (Van Loo) met Jesus peacefully at Rose Garden Assisted Living in Grandville August 28, 2021. Carolyn was born December 25, 1930 in Zeeland, Michigan to Trena and John Van Loo. She attended Zeeland High School. Carolyn married Harvey Visser on June, 1946. She was a member of Rosewood Reformed Church in Jenison. She was a bus driver for Ottawa County Intermediate School District and worked at Haworth Manufacturing. She was an avid golfer, loved playing games, and traveling south for the winter. Carolyn loved her family and was involved in her children's, grandchildren's, great-grandchildren’s, and great-great-grandchildren’s activities. Corky always had a good story to tell about all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Visser; second husband, Lee Snyder; and three brothers Jay Van Loo, Robert Van Loo, Paul Van Loo; and grandson, Adam Visser. Carolyn is survived by four children AJ (Mary) Visser of Holland, Joanne (Wally) Buesing of Berrien Springs, Jim (Ann) Visser of Holland, Bruce Visser of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren Todd (Felicity) Visser, Mathew (Ginny) Visser, Aric (Kim Baker) Visser, Jeff (Laurie) Buesing, Stacey (Todd) Baker, Bobbi Visser, Aaron Visser, Joshua (Chelsey) Visser, Jonathan (Vivian) Visser, David Visser, Tara (Aaron) Kolkema; 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-granddaughters; one brother, John (Judy) Van Loo; and one sister, Ruth (Harvey) LePoire. She was loved by many and will be forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Rosewood Reformed Church, 2795 Rosewood St., Jenison, MI 49428 with visitation one hour prior. In memory of Carolyn and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rosewood Reformed Church or Adam Visser Memorial Scholarship through Community Foundation for Muskegon County (CFFMC), 425 W.
