Carol Ruth Wright

Carol Ruth Charon-Wright, age 80, went to be with her Lord Thursday, September 2, 2021. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harold T. Charon; parents Paul and Roberta Berkebile. She will be remembered by her husband, Terry Wright; children Mark Charon (Esther) and Jeff Charon (Laura); brother Gary Berkebile (Carol); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carol’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity of time that she stayed here. Carol will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and gentle person whose smile and laughter brought joy to all those surrounding her.

Through God’s grace, Carol was remarkable in her ability to find the best in others. It was authentic and part of who she was. She loved connecting to people by listening to their stories with empathy. As she would often say, “It feels good to see the good in others.” The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Carol. She loved a quiet evening reading a book or sharing the day’s events with her husband with a glass of wine in hand. Her passion, however, was her family. She always looked forward to and loved the monthly dinners together - basking in the chaos and noise created by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also thoroughly enjoyed the frequent brunches with her granddaughters, called “Drunches,” where they would laugh the morning away losing track of time. They say a mother holds her children's hands for a while, but their hearts forever. This is so true for our mother, Carol. You will be greatly missed but we take solace in knowing that heaven has gained an angel. Well done, Mom….well done.
