Raymond Allen Dingman, age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 24, 2017 while in the comfort of his home and in the company of family. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI in the spring of 1925 to the late William and Eugenia Dingman. Ray is also preceded in death by both his first wife of 45 years, Barbara [Rau] and second wife of 22 years Marguerite [Swart]. Surviving are his children, Nancy (Mike) Barcelow, Ron (Jini) Dingman, Doug Dingman; step-children, Fred (Bonnie) Swart, Jim Swart, Bill (Pat) Swart; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters Natalie Hurford and Marilyn Ketchel; brother James (Marilyn) Dingman as well as many nieces and nephews. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW2 and was a dedicated Firefighter for the City of Grand Rapids Fire Department for 34 years until his retirement. He also was a life time member of the Casino Club of Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church (2740 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505) with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral service beginning at 10am. Ray will be laid to rest next to Barbara in Fairplains Cemetery.
