Nancy McDonald (Schild), age 77, passed away on February 6, 2022 at Advent Health Long Term Care Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Nancy was born on August 12, 1944, the third of ten children born to Vernon & Lucille Schild.
On October 23, 1970 in Comstock Park, Nancy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jim McDonald. After their honeymoon in Sault St. Marie, the couple settled in Comstock Park. Soon Nancy started her career with the Keebler Corp., retiring after 30 years of work.
For many years, Nancy and Jim were members of the Casino Club. They also were season ticket holders at West Michigan Whitecaps and College World Series in Omaha, NE.
Nancy loved being on many bowling leagues over the years. She enjoyed crocheting hats and mittens, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards with her sisters and aunts. She also had a vast collection of salt and pepper shakers gathered on her many travels including the numerous visits to the family’s cottage on Lake Michigan.
In 2015, Nancy decided it was time to stop dealing with the snow, and she moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Although, Nancy had a quiet personality, she was her family’s loudest and biggest cheerleader. As one of the oldest in a large family, being a caregiver came naturally to Nancy. She will be remembered most for being a devoted wife, caring mother, doting grandmother & great-grandmother and loving sister.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Melinda Weeks (McDonald); granddaughter Kassandra Weeks; grandson Logan Weeks; great-grandchildren Aiden Stuckey & Charlotte Weeks; brothers: Ron (Julie) Schild, Dale (Helen) Schild and Randy (Vicki) Schild; sisters: Marilyn (Clarence) Kinder, Judy (Mike) Brunette, Phyllis Hammond; sister-in-law Gean Bradford; brother-in-law Jerry Valkier; family friend Mary Schild as well as many nieces and nephews.
