Mark Malleis, age 52, died peacefully at his home in Chicago. He was a proud father, a loving son, a hilarious nephew and cousin, a generous uncle, and a very dear brother. He earned his Master’s degree from Loyola University and made a career in database administration. Mark was gregarious, brilliant, entertaining, and never on time. His smile stretched ear to ear and his laugh lit up a room. He was a fantastic storyteller with the Irish gift of gab. Mark enjoyed reading, music, handiwork, building, crafting, and even coloring.
Mark is survived by his daughters Paige and Rachel and their mother, Sherrie; his mother Maureen: siblings: Joseph, Matthew (Kendra), Catherine (George), John (Jodie), Anna (Douglas), Molly, Margaret, and Emily; and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Malleis.
Visitation for Mark will be held on Monday January 8, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Belmont. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations for Paige and Rachel‘s college funds can be made to the family.
