Josephine M. Hires aged 86 of Grand Rapids went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 21, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Hires, both of her parents and 3 great-grandchildren. Josephine will be lovingly remembered by her children; Stephen (Carlie Carrick) Hires, David (Laura) Hires, Maryevelyn (Hung) Vu, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother Ray (Doris) Herbst, sister Editha Keene and several nieces and nephews. Josephine spent her professional career as an RN. She was very active in Wealthy Park Baptist church and Emerald Lake Chapel working with children. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE with Pastor Ken Young officiating. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends and relatives may greet Josephine’s family on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 12:30-2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials contributions can be made to Wealthy Park Baptist Church or Hospice of Michigan.
