Ila was a graduate of Comstock Park High School. She was a parishioner for over 30 years and founding member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Grand Rapids. Ila was always volunteering her time to help anyone she could. She organized and ran several hunger walks through her church to help raise money for those in need. In her free time Ila liked to travel and garden. Ila married Robert P. Rolf in 1955 and they spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 1977. Ila then married John T. Reeves in 1985 and the pair would spend their days traveling, coordinating annual Paige Reunions, and attending various Air Force Bomber Club events until his passing in 2017. Growing up Ila was 1 of 10 children, and she had a close and strong connection to each one of her siblings and their families. She was always so passionate about helping others and caring for everyone she could. Ila's bright spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ila was preceded in death by: husbands, Robert Rolf and John Reeves; daughter, Kristina B. Rolf; and grandson, Aaron Kristopher Rolf.
Ila is survived by: son, Clark (Helen) Rolf; step-son, Jim (Kathy) Reeves; step-daughter, Jodi Reeves; and step-granddaughters, Hope Reeves and Faith Reeves; as well as, many other close friends and family including numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 12:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. The family will welcome guests for a time of visitation starting at 10:00am. Ila will be laid to rest at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Careline Hospice.
