Dorothy Helen Buchanan, 93 of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Born on August 27, 1926 in Leslie, Michigan to Cecil (Helen) Green. Wife for 48 years to the late Claude Buchanan. Lovingly remembered by her daughters; Twila Buchanan and Julie(Donald) Parker. Grandmother to; C. Mark Savage, Daniel (Jeneen) Savage, Bobbi Jo (Rafel Mendez) Parker-Mendez, Melissa (Vernon Williams "Yago") Parker-Smith. Great Grandmother to; Marcus (Alli) Savage, Adam Savage, Travis Wierenga, Alexis Savage, Paul (Tony) Savage, Austino Phillips, Daniel (Big D) Savage, Brynn Phillips, Vernon (Atlas) Williams, Claudia Williams, and Piper Williams. Great-Great Grandmother to; Adrianna Savage, Lillian Kunkle, Arya Savage, McKenzie Magnan, Savannah Savage and Sonny Savage. Preceded in death by her parents Cecil, Helen, husband Claude, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Also preceded by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Next to God, family was the most important thing to Dorothy. She loved to sew, knitting hats and mittens for those in need. she love Bible study classes. Her life was dedicated to her faith in God and praying for her family. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday August 17, 2020 at Blythefield Memory Gardens.
