Dennis Wehler Sr., 84, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was a man who deeply cherished the outdoors, spending countless hours deer hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling—his favorite ways to connect with nature and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Born with a love for adventure, Dennis found joy in passing these traditions down to his family.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to four children: Deb Heiss, Denny (Patty), Greg (Jennifer), and Jim (Jenny). His pride and joy extended to his ten beloved grandchildren: Scott, Brianna, Katie, Dennis (Shannon), Anna, Evan, Dalton (Emily), Ryleigh (Cody), Mia, Bella, and Sara, Michael, Isabelle, Lily all of whom held a special place in his heart. His beloved dog, Joey, will deeply feel his absence.
Dennis will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for the great outdoors, and the wisdom he imparted to those around him. His legacy lives on in the memories of hunting trips, fishing stories, and the sound of his snowmobile carving through the winter snow. Above all, he will be remembered for his warmth, love, and dedication to his family.
Dennis’s family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and is likely already exploring a new frontier.
