Clark met his wife, Ellen, while they were attending rival high schools. They were married for over 50 years, until her passing in 2015.
During WWII, Clark served his country bravely in the Naval Air Corps. Later he attended Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Throughout his career, Clark worked as a Promotion Manager for various Television Stations around the country.
Clark and Ellen raised their family in Grand Rapids, but moved around the country due to Clark’s job. Besides Michigan, they were residents of St. Louis, MO, San Jose and Salinas, CA, and Lexington, KY.
As a veteran, Clark was involved with the American Legion for many years. He was also an active member with Kiwanis. A spiritual man, Clark was an active parishioner of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Clark will be remembered for being a loving husband and family man. He was a salt of the earth kind of man, who worked hard and always kept his faith.
Clark is survived by his children Linda (Tom) Hardenbergh, Clark (Susan) Grant Jr., and Brian (Debbie) Grant; grandchildren Anne (Mark) Richardson, Becky (Travis) Clark, Michael (Dana) Grant, Christopher Grant, and Emma Grant; great-grandchildren Tabitha Clark, Fiona Clark, Deacon Grant, Harlan Grant, and Corbin Grant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; brother Hector Grant Jr.; as well as his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with one hour prior for visiting.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Hospice or St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
