August 2, 2022. He was born in Durham County, North Carolina on June 5, 1968 to Rita Joanne Scoggins and Bobby Lee Harward. "Chris", lovingly addressed by his family and friends, came from a beautifully blended family of biological siblings, adoption, step sisters and brother as well as half-brothers. No matter the manner in which the family had come together, He always said, "They are simply my brothers and sisters".
Chris graduated from Southern Durham High School, Durham, North Carolina in 1986. Enjoyed classic cars and street racing. He became a fence builder by trade and is know for installing most of the fences in the Raleigh Durham area, both commercially as well as residentially.
Chris met his wife Jessica and her family, having visited Grand Prairie Texas on numerous occasions and moved to Texas permanently in January of 2021.
Out of his generous heart, he lovingly built a one of a kind fence for his wife’s Grandmother, Marjorie. She bragged on Chris often and would tell everyone, “I’ve got the prettiest fence on the block!”.
Chris had a charismatic personality that made you feel like you'd known him forever, loved his friends and family genuinely and fiercely, was a pleasure to be around and an amazing storyteller always keeping you your toes! Adventurous, spontaneous, and always willing to try new foods. He loved to join in the “BBQ debate” as to which state did it better. That answer will remain known to those closest to him.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Rita Harward, Sister Lisa L Spilak , Brother Stephan “Wesley” Harward and Grandparents Loraine Scoggins and Floyd Bass, mother in law Kathryn Howell and Grandma Marjorie Howell.
Chris is survived by his wife, Jessica R Tinsley, only daughter Megan Elizabeth Harward, brothers Keith Harward, Kevan Harward whom he adored, Jimmy Lee Harward loved each other dearly, nieces Stephanie Byrd and Destiny Faith, cousins Carolyn Richards and her husband Gene, Melissa and Michelle.
Chris shared a unique bond with those we would loving call “family” by choice. His Brothers out of adversity, John Mark Adkins Sr. aka “Popeye”, Joe Johnston, Edward “E” Harris, Juan Salguero Hernandez, Dario Gallegos, Thomas Garner, Mario, Chad, Randall aka "Face," Marlin aka "Fish," Roy, Tate, and Mr. Gotti.
His life scripture, Mark 11:24, he lived by and encouraged many with this verse.
He and his wife Jessica's life song was "A Thousand Years". Deeply Loved, Forever in our Hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grandprairiefh.com for the Harward family.
