Roy Lee Sullivan passed away June 22, 2020, after a courageous battle against Parkinson’s Disease and COPD. Roy was born on September 12, 1939, in Wiergate, Texas, to John and Terie Sullivan (née Byerly).
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Willie Moore Shankle, Willie Mae Shankle Hollis, Teresa Sullivan Smith, Calvin Sullivan, and Milton Sullivan, and his son-in-law Joe Scott.
Roy Sullivan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Arnita Sullivan; his daughters, Rhonda Sullivan Hughes (Robert), Rita Sullivan-Scott, and Terri Sullivan Gurley (Patrick); his stepdaughters, Gina Brydson, Sherene Warren, and Willena Hitchens; his sisters Helen Sullivan Alexander and Mary Sullivan; his grandchildren, Chloe, Megan, Corinne, and Emily; and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Roy’s memorial will begin at noon Monday, June 29, at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Interment will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, only immediate family may attend.
