James Henry Webb, Jr., “better known as Jimmy”, 93, passed away September 10, 2017 at his home. He was born March 31, 1924 in Rutherford County, TN to parents, James Henry Webb, Sr. and Eunice Webb. Jimmy was a Minor League baseball player before WWII. He was a quiet, unassuming and full of charm and grace. Jimmy was a good friend and he freely gave to many needy causes – including military organizations. He was a great mechanic and could fix anything around the house. Jimmy loved his family and took his responsibilities as a husband and dad seriously. He was a good provider and sacrificed for his family. Jimmy was also an avid Texas Rangers fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie S. Webb; his parents; sisters, Pearl and Era; infant son, Jeffrey.
Survived by: sons, Jimmie Russell “Rusty” Webb and Eric Webb and wife Carita; grandchildren: Haley Webb (Bryan Bassman), Joseph Webb and wife Michelle; great-grandchildren, Carson Webb and Landon Webb; sister, Louise Porter; brother-in-law, R.W. Smith; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation: 7 pm to 9 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.
Graveside Service: 1:15 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
