James Michael Grimes, age 63, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in Dallas TX. Born October 10, 1956 in Dallas, he was known in his community as “Santa Michael”. He was a member of the “Lone Star Santas” and took on the role of St. Nick every year for the past 10 years. When he wasn’t bringing joy to children at Christmas, he worked as an aircraft parts inspector for HM Dunn in Euless, TX for 20 years. He was an active member of the Grand Prairie Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed singing in their choir, often singing duets and solos as a tenor. In his younger years, he served in the US Army where he was stationed in Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Gwendolyn Grimes and sister Dale Pinkston. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Judy Dunn Grimes, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tina Dawson, step-son and daughter-in-law Frankie and Lauren Brockett, sisters Joyce Martin and Virginia Prater, and brother Henry Grimes, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a grand-dog named Millie.
