Gregory, Frankie Joe, lost his courageous battle with cancer on April 30, 2010. He was born in Collinsville, Texas on January 20, 1941, to the parents of Joseph Lawrence and Iris Jean (Hart) Gregory. Frank was preceded in death by his father on October 28, 1972, and mother on April 17, 2010.
Frank is survived by his wife, Gayle Richardson, two daughters, Lori Chase and Keri Gustavsen and her husband Neil, and two sons, Chad Gregory and Jason Gregory. He will also be missed by Gayle’s two daughters, Pam Reeves and her husband Russell, and Susan Richardson. Frank was a doting “Papa” and is survived by 9 grandchildren, Abigayle, Ethan, Emma, Payten, Ty, Clay, Miguel, Maya and Isabella. Frank is also survived by his sister, Glenda Brundage, and her husband, Butch, and their family.
Frank and his family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, when he was in grade school. Frank graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1959 where he played every sport. He was voted “Most Athletic” by his class and after graduation went to San Angelo College on a football scholarship. He was a proud Grand Prairie firefighter for over 30 years and retired in 2003. Frank had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent a great deal of time at his beloved “Possum Lodge” at Lake Texoma where everyone remembers the annual fish fries. Frank also loved working on his father’s antique car, a 1953 Ford. Next to his family, Frank loved and valued many friendships, which are too numerous to list.
We will all miss Frank’s fun loving sense of humor, his smile, and the twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes as he teased us. But we are also glad that he is now out of pain, happy and at peace.
