Felix grew up in Kenedy, Texas where he attended school till the 8th grade when he left to go work in the fields with his family. He met Angela Garza through a family friend and it was love at first sight. They were married in Lubbock, Texas on December 9, 1961. For the next few years they worked between Texas and Iowa until they finally settled in Iowa where they started their family and remained for 35 years before relocating to Grand Prairie, Texas in 2004.
Felix was a dedicated family man, he worked numerous jobs, sometimes multiple jobs at one time. A few jobs were with a plant nursery, a foundry plant doing assembly and an abundance of maintenance and custodial jobs which included: post office, mobile homes and Park Clinic. He loved to laugh, be outside either in his garden or working on his truck and was always active. A fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks, he enjoyed most sports, especially wrestling.
Felix was always very involved in his faith. After marriage while living in Karnes City, Texas he was a member of De Colores then when living in Iowa he was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. In Grand Prairie they were members of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church since 2006.
Felix is survived by his wife, Angela Guzman; sons Jose Guzman, Jesus Guzman and his wife, Dawn, Ricardo Guzman and his wife, Thitsana, Adam Guzman and his wife, Erin; brother Juan Guzman, sister Rumalda Cruz, brother Heriberto Guzman and brother Jose Guzman; granddaughter Amara Fisher, step-grandchildren: Kirstin Cobb, Kaylan Cobb, Korey Cobb, Simm Kapkeo, Edwin Kapkeo and his wife, Nancy; great-grandchildren: Saniyya Fisher, Syn'cere Fisher, Skylar Fisher, Serenity Fisher, step-great grandchildren, Mikiah Berneman, Alex Kapkeo, Elijah Kapkeo.
Felix was preceded in death by; daughter Maria Guzman; brother Emilio Guzman; sisters: Josephina Gonzales, Lucia Janssen, Amelia Paradez, Maria Escobedo and Step-Great-Granddaughter Lillith Rowe.
A visitation for Felix will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home. Rosary service will occur Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
Funeral mass will occur Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052 with interment to follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Garden, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Guzman, Daniel Guzman, Christopher Cruz, Ruben Guzman, David Carvajal, Christopher Rocha, Victor Galindo, Ernie Guzman and Juan Guzman Jr..
