Eric Matthew Parker, 33, of Grand Prairie, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Arlington. Rosary will be said at 7pm on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning prior to at 6pm and then following the rosary. Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Lakeview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Kendall officiating. Eric was born on August 13, 1980, to Robert and Cheryl (Regan) Parker.
Eric always lived his life on his terms and made lots of great friends and had many interesting experiences because of it. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and employee. Some of his more colorful jobs include working for a traveling carnival, helping to rebuild the Texas Giant roller coaster, doing restoration work at the National Cemetery, and being part of the clean up efforts after Hurricane Katrina. He finally found his niche at Centerline Supply making highway road signs. Next time you drive down 161 or I-20 in the metroplex his handy work will be guiding you. He had much love to give and gave it freely to whoever was in need, including his pet squirrel, Hemi.Those left to cherish his memories include his parents, Robert and Cheryl Parker; three sisters: Nikki Escalante and husband Joe of Grand Prairie, Andra Morphew and husband Robert of Liberty Hill, and Mandy Lawrence and husband Earl of Fortson, Georgia; seven nieces and nephews: Justin Escalante, Junior Escalante, Samantha Escalante, Dylan Morphew, Garrett Morphew, Tyler Lawrence, and Kaitlin Lawrence; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as countless friends, including Ricki Cushing who he thought of as his little brother.Memorials can be made to Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation, 3030 Olive Street, 400 Victory Plaza East, Dallas, Texas, 75219 or via www.texasnf.org.
