Doris was born November 19, 1932, in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, to Albert Arthur Libengood and
Grace Forsha.
Doris graduated from Blairsville High School in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy in March of 1953.
While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida she met fellow sailor, John Clinton Ingram. Doris and John were married May 3, 1955, in Brunswick, Georgia. Doris was a Yeoman 3rd class when she separated from the Navy a few days later so that she could follow her husband through the remainder of his Naval service after serving 2 years, 1 month, and 20 days.
Doris and John soon had three boys - John, Ronald, and Martin – and became Methodist Missionaries in 1966. They were appointed to Oaxaca, Mexico, where John flew planes and dropped leaflets on small villages in the mountains. They had been in Mexico for six months when John died suddenly.
Doris and the boys returned stateside, and she raised them alone. She went to work for the Federal Power Commission, and they moved to Washington DC. She eventually accepted a position with the Environmental Protection Agency, and they settled in the Dallas area. Doris worked for the EPA until she retired.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Ingram, and son, John. She is survived by her sons, Ronald and Martin Ingram; grandchildren, Jenny, Jaryn and Camilla; great grandchildren, Darien and Ava; sisters, Marilyn and Donna.
