Cynthia Leal Santos, age 59, went to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 16, 2021 while at UT Southwestern Medical Center Dallas. Cyndi fought a courageous battle for over 30 years against scleroderma. Born in San Benito, Texas on October 25, 1962 and was the second child of Benito G. Leal and Irma Esquivel Leal. She attended Round Lake Senior High School and graduated in 1980. She met and married the love of her life, Javier Santos in 1982 in Waukegan, Illinois and moved to Grand Prairie, Texas after her daughter was born in 1983.
Cyndi was preceded in death by her mother, Irma Esquivel Leal. Survived by her father Benito G. Leal. A devoted mother and wife, Cyndi is survived by her husband of 39 years, Javier Santos, and daughter, Erica Santos, sons, Nick Santos (Kelli) and Jacob Santos. She is also survived by her siblings Norma Gonzales (Gerry), Criselda Leal, and Alfredo Leal. Great nieces and nephews Alex Gonzales, Jocelyn Gonzales, Analeah Chavez, Victoria Chavez, Bella Chavez, Dominick Mason Chavez. Also aunts, uncles and many cousins.
As a child, Cyndi loved to play sports, go dancing and read. She was the most amazing mother, grandmother and wife. She had compassion when needed and was tough. Never missed any games or big events for her children and grandchildren. Cyndi cherished her grandchildren and they will forever miss their Mama Bear. She loved attending concerts with her husband Javier, especially when Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, and Rob Thomas came to town. No matter what life threw at Cyndi, she continued to have a wonderful sense of humor and make time for her family and friends. Our hearts are broken; however, we look forward to reuniting with you again one day. We love you Cyndi and will miss you more than words could ever say.
"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him, then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
