Curtis Gaston Lowrie, 91, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away peacefully on July 23, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with COPD. Curtis was born November 28, 1922 in Terrell TX to John R and Mae Lowrie. He enjoyed a wonderful childhood with 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Brothers and sisters that preceded him in death include Glenwood, Loyd, Brannon, Lorene, Tommie and Ethel. His sister Troy of Georgetown TX, survives him. Also survived by brother-in-law and best friend, Charlie Gipson of Mabank TX. Curtis attended Terrell High School, where he met the love of his life, Jeana Faye Wooldridge. They were married October 16, 1942 and were married for 64 years. Curtis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeana in 2006. Curtis was a Navy PT Boat mechanic in WWII in the Pacific. He served 14 years in the Navy, active and reserves. He worked in the oilfields of Matagorda County, then went to Ling Temco Vought in Grand Prairie for many years,then joined Wales Transportation Co. and retired in 1984.His children lovingly remember the wonderful memories of attending church, picnics, reunions and marriages at his beloved Camp Ground Presbyterian in Poetry, TX. He was a dedicated member of Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge #1031 in Grand Prairie. In June 1998, he served one year as The Most Worshipful Master. He was an excellent builder, mechanic and gardener. Curtis and Jeana loved visiting Red River, were excellent square dancers for many years. Curtis also became a “performer” late in life, performing skits with his friend Deana at many events. Curtis and Jeana were members of First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie since 1957. Curtis is survived by his children, Curtis Wayne Lowrie, Teresa Lowrie Davis and Brenda Lowrie Price and son-in-law William “Bill” Price, all of Grand Prairie; sister Troy Day of Georgetown TX.; grandchildren Toby Miller & wife Drue of Marietta GA; Trisha Moden & Carl of Trinidad, CO; Rodney Kaderka & wife Kim of Keller, TX; Hillary Barnett & Dan of Grapevine, TX; Courtney Davis of Grand Prairie, TX; great-grandchildren Lane Moden, Bailee Kaderka, Tanner Moden, Dylann Kaderka, Owen Barnett and Connor Barnett; and grand-dogs and faithful companions Sammy and Max.Curtis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
