Bobbie Goff Koke

March 3, 1935 – January 23, 2020

Bobbie Goff Koke was called home to Heaven on January 23, 2020 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for 15 years. Bobbie was born March 3, 1935 in Imboden, Arkansas to parents, Delores and Virgil Goff. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School where she served as a drum majorette and was elected Homecoming Queen. She continued her education at UTA, formerly known as Arlington State College. She started her career at LTV Aerospace Corporation as an executive secretary for 10 years. It was at LTV that she met the love of her life and husband, Stanley. They were married for 63 years and had two sons, Kyle and Kurt. They were an example of true love and devotion to their family and everyone who knew them.

She went on to work until retirement at Aerospatiale, where she performed helicopter assembly and installation. She was a seeker of knowledge for her entire life and instilled that curiosity and love of learning in her children and grandchildren. She is remembered by her grandchildren for having them refer to her encyclopedia collection for the answer to any question they might have. She is also remembered by her grandchildren for teaching them how to dance in the living room, particularly to one of her favorite songs, “Straighten Up and Fly Right”. Bobbie also passed her athleticism on to her children. She loved playing softball and was an exceptional 1st baseman. Her sons remember cheering her on in the church softball league. Bobbie was also an avid sports fan and big supporter of all the local teams including the Cowboys, Mavericks and Rangers. In addition to the professional teams, she was a fan of the South Grand Prairie Warriors, attending all the games when her sons were playing and continuing to attend games long after they graduated to cheer on neighbors and family friends. Bobbie and her husband, Stan, were known as grandparents to all and lovingly referred to as Gram and Poppy by more than just their grandchildren. She was a strong matriarch of the family and was known as her family’s coach, teacher, and champion. Above all, she loved God and was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church for 52 years.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Oxford Glen Memory Care Facility for their care and support during her battle with Alzheimer’s.

The funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church located at 2200 SW 3rd St, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home located at 2951 S. Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Delores and Virgil Goff and sister, Peggy Hendricks. She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Koke; her sons, Kyle Koke (Leah), and Kurt Koke (Melinda); her grandchildren, Kendra Berg (Jacob), Malorie Corcoran (Philip), Zachary Mobley (Brittany), Kelsie Serice (John), McKenzie Tully (Joseph), and Blake Koke; and her great-grandchildren, Brynlie Berg, Adelyn Corcoran, and Braxton Berg.
