Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie. Burial: will follow in Southland Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FUMC or to the Red Cross for disaster relief to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
Billie was born Aug. 14, 1925, to Lalah Mae Whitley Redden and John Griffin Redden in Grand Prairie. Billie joined First United Methodist Church when she was 12 years old and attended Grand Prairie High School where she was football sweetheart, cheerleader, and ranked fourth in her class. She was married to Irven Francis Klug for 40 years until he died in 1983. She lived her 85 years in Grand Prairie except for a few months in New Jersey during World War II. She faithfully served others and loved traveling with her family and friends.
Survivors: Billie is survived by their son, Michael Irven Klug and his wife Bridget; daughter, Marci Diane Copeland and husband, Walter. Mike and Bridget gave her Lauren Michelle and Lindsey Diane, and Marci and Walter gave her John Patrick and Wendy Lee. In Billie's own words, "what a joy they are! Love them, love them, Love them!!" She is also survived by her great-grandson, Phoenix Christopher Stout, son of Lauren and Christopher Stout; her brother, J.B. Redden and wife, Grace; and many nieces and nephews.
