Betty was raised in Sherman, Texas. She married the love of her life, R.C. Thrasher of Whitewright, Texas on March 4, 1950 in Sherman. They moved to Dallas in 1950 where they lived until he was drafted during the Korean War. They lived in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri from 1952-1954. They moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1954 where they lived 68 years until they moved to Tyler, Texas to be near their daughter, Cyndi. Betty and R.C. celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in March.
Betty loved her family dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her deep love for her children was especially seen in how she loved and cared for her special needs son, Steve.
Betty was active in her church. She taught pre-school Sunday School for over 30 years, sang in the Serendipity Choir, went on many mission trips with the youth Choralier Choir as one of the “cooks”. She thought of the youth in the Choraliers like they were her own kids. She also was part of the “Master Builders” that went on many mission trips to repair churches, and participate in church building projects and disaster recovery work. She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Grand Prairie.
Betty loved to travel, from family vacations camping with friends to cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii. She also enjoyed travel to Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Ocie and Jessie (Brown) Fuller. She is survived by her husband R.C. Thrasher of Tyler, TX; daughter Cyndi Reynolds and her husband Rick of Bullard, TX; son Steven Thrasher of Palestine, TX; brother Billy Fuller of Rockwall, TX; sister-in-law Juanita McKnight of Whitewright, TX; grandson Austin Reynolds and wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter Lauren Turnham and husband Adrian of Houston, TX; great grandchildren Anna Rose Reynolds, Lainey Joy Reynolds, Walker Turnham, Hayes Turnham and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 950 Mayfield, Grand Prairie, Texas.
