Nina B. Simpson April 27, 1953 – September 8, 2013 It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our loving mother passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Nina bravely fought a long, hard battle with cancer. Nina was born in Los Angeles, California to Russian immigrant Boris and Susie Sador. She was their only child and grew up in a house that was filled with love, music and Russian culture. At 15 years old Nina met a handsome young man named Tye who was trying to sell her a car. Shortly after, Tye and Nina started their adventures together which lead them to a wonderful 41 year marriage. Nina and Tye lived in Southern California until 1989. In California, Nina worked as a loan officer for many years. She also helped and supported Tye with his various projects- building their sailboat "Mariah," owning and operating a ship yard and raising children in a generator powered log cabin in Trabuco Canyon. Nina and the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1989. In Colorado she earned her real estate license and opened Simpson Realty Company. Nina put her heart and soul into her work and clients. It was impossible for Nina to run an errand without seeing someone she knew. By the tremendous amount of support that we, her children, have received from the real estate community alone, it is a reminder that our mother was a well loved and respected professional. Nina and Tye loved to travel with their family. Walking the Great Wall, camping on the tip of Baja, cross country road trips, deep sea fishing, mistaking cows for water buffalo on Yellow Mountain, riding scooters dangerously through Bangkok, and feeding crocodiles hotdog treats are some of our favorite travel memories. We, her children, invite you to join us in celebrating Nina's life on Saturday, September 14th, 4:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. Instead of black, please wear bright, happy colors. In lieu of flowers we ask you to donate to cancer research. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/gjsentinel/obituary.aspx?n=nina-b-simpson&pid=166906062&fhid=6510#fbLoggedOut
