Services will take place at 2 p.m. June 7 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Survivors include one son, Gary of Broomfield; five daughters, Linda Vincent of Shakopee, Minnesota, Bonnie Rohn of Fort Morgan, Franki Bertram of Fredrick, Aileen Barry of Littleton, and Annette Wulff of Grand Junction; one sister, Bernice “Bunny” Kain of Euclid, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions to the Aaron Dachner Endowment Fund, 1125 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43209; or to a charity of one’s choice.

Miriam ""Mickey"" Berlin

February 6, 1927 - February 10, 2017

With the full moon, lunar eclipse, and the flyby of a comet all occurring on Friday, February 10, 2017, Mickey Berlin decided to get a closer view of the heavens and passed away suddenly at Larchwood Inns in Grand Junction, Colorado. Her daughter, and constant companion, Annette Wulff, was sitting by her side holding her hand as Mickey reached for the stars.

Our mother, Miriam ""Mickey"" Sylvia Dachner, born on February 6, 1927, in Kirtland, Ohio to Isadore and Elka Libby Glaz Dachner, was a kind, compassionate woman who spent her life thinking of and caring for her family and friends.

Mickey graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1945 and worked at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She married Lawrence ""Skip"" Berlin of South Euclid, Ohio on January 4, 1948, at the Cleveland Heights Temple. Mickey and Skip lived in Cleveland until 1955 when they relocated to Denver. After making stops in Casper, Wyoming, Fort Morgan and Montrose, Colorado, they settled permanently in Grand Junction.

Mickey and Skip enjoyed fishing throughout Colorado and Wyoming, especially from their boat at Blue Mesa Reservoir. Gardening was one of Mickey's favorite pastimes and she took great pride in having a manicured lawn and colorful flowers, especially roses.

When Skip became ill, Mickey was his tireless caretaker until he passed away in 2011. The outstanding support provided by Annette, Bill and their children allowed Mickey and Skip to live independently in their own home for many years. When Mickey moved from her home to Larchwood, she made the absolute best of the situation by telling her family that Larchwood was now her home and that she was happy, felt safe, and was well cared for by the staff. The family wishes to thank the attentive employees at Larchwood for the kindness.

Mickey's youngest granddaughter, Emily Wulff, who Mickey lovingly referred to as ""Shrimp,"" made a special effort to visit or share a meal almost every day, and often treated her grand-mother to a weekly manicure and transportation to the doctor or hair dresser.

Mickey is survived by her children, Linda (Mark) Vincent, Bonnie (Henry) Rohn, Franki (Bob) Bertram, Aileen and John Barry, Gary (Robbie) Berlin, and Annette (Bill) Wulff, along with 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Bernice ""Bunny"" Kain of Euclid, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. In addition, there was a special place in Mickey's heart for her dear friends, Dr. Michael Pramenko, Frances Engel, Dr. Heather Kaufman, Josie Lenard, and her Larchwood roommate, Marianne Andrews. Mickey was predeceased by her husband, Skip; her parents; three brothers, Aaron, Morrie, and Dave, and their respective spouses.

A memorial service will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction on June 7th at 2:00 p.m. Mickey's family will spread her ashes at the Blue Mesa Reservoir at a later date where Mickey will join Skip for an eternal fishing expedition.

Please join Mickey Berlin's family for a memorial service at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction on June 7 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Mickey's family will spread her ashes at the Blue Mesa Reservoir the following day where she will join her husband, Skip, for an eternal fishing expedition.
