He was born on July 12, 1947, in Gassville, Arkansas. Larry was a strong, loving, and honorable man who was deeply devoted to his family and a great friend to many.
Larry is survived by his daughters Valerie Lintott (Chris), Amanda Boyd, and Aundrea Martin (Joe), as well as his grandchildren Blake Broadbent (Ashley), Briana Benge (Cody), Devin Kenney (Andrea), Ashlee Garmong (Jesse), Alexander Klein (Nikki Thordsen), Adam Klein (Jenna Pearcy), and great-grandchildren Shaela and Dustin Broadbent, Kashdon Kenney, and Lenora and Lillian Garmong. He also leaves behind numerous other friends and extended family.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Boyd, and father, Marshall Boyd.
Larry proudly served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1972, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a long-haul truck driver for over 30 years. In his final years, Larry specialized in hauling railroad crews.
Outside of work, Larry enjoyed viewing most sports and actively participated in golf and basketball. He also found joy in playing poker and blackjack for fun.
Services for Larry Grant Boyd will be held at 1 pm on December 8, 2023, at the Veterans Cemetery located at 2830 Riverside Pkwy, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Martin's Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado, is entrusted with assisting the family during this difficult time.
Larry Grant Boyd will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of strength, love, and honor will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable man.
