Karina Lea Page

Karina (Katie) Lea Page, age 39, of Fruita, Colorado, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Saint Mary's Hospital. Katie was born on September 8, 1985, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Douglas A. Page and Joyce L. Legrand. She spent her childhood in Grand Junction and graduated from Central High School.

Katie came into this world almost a month early. She was a unique child—sweet, loving, and creative. From a young age, she loved to draw and shared this passion with her children. Her children were the loves of her life, and she would do anything for them. Katie often shared funny moments with her kids on social media, encouraging their imaginations and joining them in play. She loved being a mom. Her husband, Fredrick Barker, supported and loved her unconditionally.

Katie had a deep love for the water and could often be found swimming whenever she had the chance. She once said that being underwater in the pool was the only place where she could clearly hear her own thoughts. She also enjoyed spending time at the Colorado National Monument, where she often took her children hiking.

Katie loved her family deeply. She texted her mom almost every day to wish her a good day and had a special relationship with her stepdad, frequently calling him for advice. She was a fierce protector of her younger brother and shared a remarkable connection with her sister, often taking up the same hobby at the same time without realizing it. Katie accepted everyone for who they were, living her life unapologetically, in her own way. She left this world just as she entered it—much too soon—and will be forever missed.

Katie is preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Clarence "Cootie" Page, and her grandfather, William C. Legrand.

She is survived by her loving spouse, Fredrick Barker; her parents, Joyce Page and Christopher Wade; her sons, Conner Page (Jayci), Tyler Hassler, and Noah Barker; her brother, Christopher Page (Jesse); her sister, Rachele Marlette (Jeff); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
