Ella Mae Eickhoff

Ella was born March 3, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, to Benjamin and Lorna (Moffit) Shire. She grew up in the Denver area and went to Columbia Heights Elementary School and graduated from Wheat Ridge High School. Ella attended the Parks School of Business where she received her Associate degree in Accounting. She worked as an accounting manager and was a proud certified member of the IAPP (International Accounts Payable Professionals). Ella married Willard D. Eickhoff on July 12, 1994, in South Lake Tahoe, California. They loved travelling together, especially going on five lifetime cruises, and visiting Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and several islands in the Caribbean. In her free time, Ella enjoyed camping, crafts, baking, ceramics, and making jewelry. As an accountant, she enjoyed doing and helping others with taxes. She was always there to help someone in need. She loved animals, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with the people she loved. She will truly be missed.

Ella is survived by her husband, Willard D. Eickhoff of Grand Junction; sons, Christopher (Kymberly) Damrow of St. George, Utah, and Wilhelm (Cynthia) Eickhoff of Colorado; daughters, Laura (David) Somogye of Forney, Texas, and Phylandra (Scott) Cramer of Bellevue, Nebraska; brother, Patrick Shire of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; sister, Donna Fief of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida; nephew, Lawrence Mervin of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Lorna Shire; brother, David Shire; and sister, Shirley Gordon.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Martin Mortuary. A committal service will follow at Palisade Cemetery, 3529 Front Street, Palisade, CO 81526. Memorial contributions may be made in Ella’s name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org, or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
