Edith May Wright of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 94. She was born to John and Inez Hoover in Yuma, Colorado and attended grade school in Salina, Kansas. After returning to Colorado and graduating high school in Hotchkiss, she married Harold Wright in 1946. The couple had a farm in Crawford before moving in 1955 to Grand Junction, where they lived the rest of their lives.
Edith touched many lives through her interests and talents. She was an avid reader and prolific writer with over 100 poems and several family history memoirs. Her other hobbies included quilting, camping, gardening, and sharing produce with her family and friends. She expressed her boundless generosity by making quilts for foster children and giving regularly to numerous charities. Until it closed, she held several prominent roles at the First Church of God, including youth and adult teacher, and board member. At the time of her death, she was church member of Heart of Junction. In all ways, she sought a life of faithfulness to God and inspired others to do the same.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Harold; siblings Twila Bell Hoover, Joyce Ewing, and Juanita Hoover; sons-in-law Scott Mills and James Seibert; and a great-granddaughter, Gabreila Mathena. She is survived by her brother Mack Hoover, sister Ettamarie Hatfield, and sister-in-law Barbara Ewing, all of Grand Junction; her five children, Lora Strommenger (Ray) of Limon, CO, Linda Turner (George) of Grand Junction, Faye Mills of Austin, CO, Nancy Seibert of Grand Junction, and Raymond Wright (Roxann) of Grand Junction; numerous nieces and nephews; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A viewing for Edith will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Heart of Junction, 755 N 4th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501. A reception will occur Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 755 N 4th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 755 N 4th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501. A burial will occur Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Crawford Cemetery, 255 Dogwood Ave., Crawford, CO 81415.
