Dorothy Marie Calderone

Dorothy was born October 01, 1939 in Pueblo, Co. and passed away at Grand Villa in Grand Junction, Co. She attended High School at Pueblo Catholic High School and graduated in 1958. Dorothy met Robert Raymond Calderone and married him in Albuquerque, NM, December 29, 1960. Dorothy and Robert had a son, Mario in 1961, and a daughter Cheryl Calderone in 1977.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Robert, and daughter, Cheryl. She is survived by her brother; Walter Smelich, and sister; Thelma Van Leuven and a son; Mario Calderone, Grandson; Stephen (Emily) Calerone and their daughter; Anna, and Dorothy’s Granddaughter; Amanda Calderone.

Dorothy was involved with the Catholic Daughters, Board of Community Concerts of the Grand Valley. She earned her degree in early childhood education from Mesa State College. She was best known for her day care, Aunt Dorothy’s Edu care that she started in 1972.

There will be a Rosary at 7 PM Friday, February 4 at IHM Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at IHM Catholic Church at 10 AM.
