Cecil D Caster, Grand Junction CO
7/26/48 – 2/16/22 Grand Junction CO age 73
Cecil D Caster, Grand Junction native passed away February 16th at St Mary’s Hospital. He was 73.
Cecil spent his childhood in Grand Junction, Colorado. He attended Grand Junction High School. His Tiger pride was always present, even when his kids and grandkids went to rival valley high schools. Orange and Black will always be the right colors.
Cecil married Amy Hugley, May 20, 1972. They have three children. Carrie (Rob) Martindale, Brian (Brooke) Caster, Dillon (Christie) Caster and five grandchildren, Madison, Maddox, Malia, Rhett and Myla.
Cecil was a Professional Land Surveyor. He owned and operated Monument Surveying for 30 years. His chosen profession was perfect for his love of the Colorado outdoors. Traveling around that state was always a lesson in where he had surveyed. The man could find a survey marker anywhere and everywhere. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed the Grand Mesa. Hunting big and small game, fishing lakes, rivers and streams, camping and snowmobiling.
Cecil gave his time to countless hours of coaching baseball & football teams for his boys. His joy for coaching was infectious and taught his own children to coach and volunteer. He never missed a game for his kids or grandkids. In his later years he even began to enjoy the plays, dance recitals and band concerts the grand kids participated in.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Janice Caster, brother, Bob Caster
