Patricia Faye Marquardt

Patricia was born on March 29, 1946, in Stonewall, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Mildred (McMurtry) Murdoch. She and her three siblings were raised in Flint, Michigan. Her father worked at General Motors, while her mother was a homemaker.

At age 32, Patricia made the decision to go back to school, so she attended Seminole Community College in Florida where she earned her LPN nursing degree. She worked as a nurse at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, Surgical Associates, also worked with special needs children at the hospital, and other nursing positions.

Pat and family enjoyed living in a number of states, including Ohio, Illinois, Washington, D.C., Florida, Houston, Texas, Tucson, Arizona, and then they returned to their home state of Michigan.

Pat was very artistic and engaged in a variety of art projects, including tole painting and ceramics.

Patricia was a lovely lady who enjoyed many different things such as reading and spending time at her cottage at Sage Lake in northern Michigan. She also loved dogs. Above everything, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Patricia was a caring and loving person who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her.

Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, John David Marquardt; son John J. (Charlotte J.) Marquardt; grandchildren Madeline, Claire, Joseph and Grace Marquardt; sister Peggy (Robert) Bloss (Murdoch); and brother in law and sister in law, Michael (Kathy) Marquardt.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, son Paul C. Marquardt, sister Doris Caraway (Murdoch), and brother Thomas Murdoch, Jr.

A visitation for Patricia will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI. A funeral service will occur on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation one hour prior at Hill Funeral Home. Patricia will be laid to rest at at Evergreen Cemetery, in Grand Blanc, MI.

Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Humane Society in Patricia's honor.
