Kirk D. Reid

REID, Kirk D. – of Grand Blanc, age 66, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Henry Ford Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc with Pastor Todd A. Biermann officiating. Burial follows at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc and at church from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Kirk was born in Goodrich, Michigan on June 1, 1947, the son of the late Bill and Viola (Siebert) Reid. After graduating from high school he joined the family business, Reid’s Barber Shop, which was established in 1920 by his grandfather, where he work (and later owned) for 47 years . Kirk enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, he also enjoyed hunting, cruising with friends, fishing and golfing. He also loved playing cards with family and friends. Surviving are: wife, Carol Reid; children, Staci (Dustin) Harms and Chad (Kara) Reid; brother, Jim (Carol) Reid; step-sisters, Sue (Ed) McLean and Debbie (Derald) Schnepp; grandchildren, Tayler, Dylan, Kallie, Lara, and Jackson; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and also his brother, Gary; step-dad, Ed; aunt, Viola; nephew, Billy; and uncle, Harley. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.hillfh.com.
