To Dan's family.  I just heard today of Dan's passing.  My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. I had many dealings with Dan as I was a claim representative and settled many claims with him.  He always had a joke or two to tell.  He used to fax me jokes on Fridays. I loved working with Dan, he always brightened my day. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss.  Dan was a very funny guy and am fortunate to have known him.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Learning of Dan's Passing Saddened Me Deeply...

I first met Dan and Gail as neighbors when they moved to Hadley in the mid 70's. I took a liking to Dan right off. It was hard not to.
Not long after that I needed Dan's services as a lawyer. That is when I learned what a kind, compassionate and caring man he was. Not to mention how skilled and talented he was at his craft.
I have to echo the condolences of others who wrote before me.
Dan was a wonderful man with a quick wit and a great since of humor. I cant remember having a conversation with Dan that didn't begin or end with a joke. Over the years we talked from time to time. I would Usually call him when I needed advice about something or another. If he wasn't available at the time, he would always get back to me in short order. Always with a answer or sound advice. Our conversations would sometimes end with one of his timeless jokes,, and always with a smile on my face...
Dan will surely be missed on earth ~ But ~ They Are Smiling In Heaven!!!

Dan was my friend and mentor for more than 30 years.  We practiced law together in Burton during the 80's and 90's.  I NEVER MET A NICER OR BETTER PERSON IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

We are so saddened by the passing of Dan - so many great memories of all of you on Lake Lapeer. We'll always remember him calling us to the pontoon with his bicycle bell.  What a fun and generous guy! He made every day brighter for everyone he came in contact with. What a super blessing to have known him. Great, great picture of Dan.

Everyone who knew Dan is poorer today.  We remember his devilish grin, his love of life, his generosity.  We recall his devotion to his clients, his exhaustive preparation of their cases, his folksy brilliance in and out of the courtroom.  Dan never pursued recognition, never sought a photo op.  And he never failed to do the right thing.  Rest in peace, dear and esteemed colleague.  Our deepest condolences to you, Gail and family.

To Dan's family:  No words can express the sorrow I feel at this time.  Dan was the greatest guy and his absence will be felt by many.  Since graduation, the times we saw each other were few and far between but each one was always great.  I am so glad he and Gail were able to be at the reunion this year.  May it help ease the pain of your loss to know so many thought so highly of Dan.

He was the definition of the ideal  attorney.  A very kind, smart, unassuming person who understood the human side of his clients and represented them with total dedication to what was really in their best interests. While Atty Bob Collins was one of the most humorous attorneys around, it took  Dan's sense of humor to  keep  Bob grinning  on many stressful days. The legal community needs more attorneys like Dan Bigsby.

Dan had it all, he was a great lawyer and a gentleman.  He knew how to work hard to do his best for his clients and friends while always maintaining a great temperament and sense of humor.  I think he taught us all how to practice law the right way.  He will be missed.

I understand that no words can ease the feeling of loss at this most difficult time. Dan was the kind of person that made an immediate and wonderful impression on anyone that had the pleasure to make his acquaintance. Kind, funny and generous are words that come to mind as I think of him. Dan was the first person on the lake to welcome us when we moved in. He immediately caught my attention with his quick witted humor and huge smile. He truly made my entire family feel welcome as we shared great times on the water. Whenever I saw Dan and Gail on that pontoon, I just had to see the hat he choose for the day, and hear his most recent joke. 

It was easy to see how genuinely happy he was spending time with his family. four years was not long enough to have this man as a friend. It breaks our hearts and we feel we have known him for much longer. His kind soul has left an indelible impression on my entire family. We feel blessed to have known such a wonderful person even if the time was brief.

Seems so long ago when I worked with Dan when he first started in law in Flint with Atty. Bob Collins.  I've thought of him fondly every time I drove by his Burton office and just knew he was a great lawyer and a wonderful family man.  Gail and Sarah know that Dan is in God's loving arms and may you be comforted in your loss.

When I was growing up Dan ran around with my older brother, boy could I tell you some stories...As time went on Danny was always there for my family, he was the kindest, most caring person anyone could ask for... Then he married the love of his life Gail they were the perfect couple. Sarah I know it so hard right now, but the great memories will get you through and all of the prayers we are saying.... Our daughter was killed 24 years ago and Dan helped us through a bad legal situation.  He was so kind and generous and a brilliant man.  We will never forget him.   We are so sorry for your loss.

We are so sadden that our wonderful friend of 60 years has passed away. He was always there when we needed his help. We were fortunate to have him as our friend and we will miss him greatly. In an era characterized by hype, image and pursuit of fame, Dan was a superb example of the quietly heroic figure, who did his job diligently and effectively, without endeavoring to make himself a celebrity or icon. As such he is an unsung hero, part of a dying breed, and will be sadly missed.  My heartfelt sympathies go to his wife Gail, daughter Sarah and her family, and to the rest of the Bigsbys who knew him as a brother or uncle.

I was completely shocked to hear of Dan's passing and am so saddened for him and his family.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers and my heart goes out to each of you but most especially to Gail and Sara Ann.  

I will always remember Dan as a very, very nice man who always seemed to have a smile on his face and as one of my oldest brother's (Roger) best friends.  Dan once told me some of the scrapes they got into!  They sure had fun over the years.  When I told my dad about Dan's passing, he was saddened.  He said Dan was the first paperboy he and mom had on Center Road as Dan and his family lived across the street from us.  

I am praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart.
