CAVANAUGH, Catherine Marie nee Martin – Age 87, of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Catherine was born May 24, 1924 in Philadelphia the daughter of Edward and Rose (Wynn) Martin. Mrs. Cavanaugh was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Surviving are her children, Mary (Allan) Ippolito, Eileen Boadway, Jack (Maureen) Cavanaugh, Thom (Laura) Cavanaugh, Sue (Neal) Faldetta, Marty Cavanaugh; 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; sister, Agnes Klein. Mrs. Cavanaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cavanaugh, daughter, Kathleen Lennerth, grandson Matt Cavanaugh. Friends may visit the family from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hill Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Father Eoin Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the cure or Avalon Hospice.
