Rose K. Reynolds was born on October 22, 1925, in Corbin, Kentucky. She was raised by her grandparents in Newton, Alabama and graduated from Newton High School. During WWII she was a secretary at Fort Rucker. Early in her career she also worked as a home economist for the Alabama Power Company. In 1947, she married Joseph “Jack” Garrison from Eufaula, Alabama and moved to Miami Springs, Florida. Jack and Rose raised raised three children, Joseph Anderson Garrison (Andy), Gypsy Anne Jones, and John David Garrison (Buddy). Rose was a devoted mother and homemaker and was very active in her community. Her interest included gardening, fashion, sewing, and volunteering at her church and local schools.
In 1971, Jack and Rose moved to Bay Hill in Orlando, Florida. They were active members of the Bay Hill Country Club and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Rose was a wonderful wife and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was affectionately known for her gourmet southern cooking. In 1987, Jack passed away in Orlando, Florida after a successful business career.
Rose remarried Charles H. Reynolds who was originally from Virginia. Charlie and Rose lived in Orlando, Florida, Highlands, North Carolina, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They enjoyed traveling around the world together and spending time with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. They were also active members of the Bay Hill Country Club and Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Windermere Union Church and attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Charlie.
Rose passed away peacefully at her home in Bay Hill on September 20, 2019. She is survived by Joseph Anderson Garrison (son), Melinda Herrera Garrison (daughter-in-law), Gypsy Anne Jones (daughter), Dana C. Jones (son-in law), Joseph Benjamin Storey (grandson), Heather Marie Storey (granddaughter-in-law), Joseph Jackson Storey (great grandson), Tyler Andrew Storey (great grandson), Ella Marie Storey (great granddaughter), Robert Wiley Storey (grandson), Jeffrey Garrison Storey (grandson), Ashley Storey (granddaughter-in-law), Brady Garrison Storey (great grandson), Brilee Rose Storey (great granddaughter). Annette Dimauro (granddaughter) Michael Dimauro (grandson-in-law), Charlotte Grace Dimauro (great granddaughter), Juliet Joy Dimauro (great granddaughter), and Samantha Rose Garrison (granddaughter).
A service will be be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 28th by Pastor Shannon Jordan (Charles Reynolds’ Granddaughter) at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
