Ronald Ivan Brown, affectionately known as Ronnie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the age of 90 in Forest City, Florida.
Born on August 2, 1934, in Orlando, Florida, Ronnie was the eldest of three children born to Jewell Adams Brown and Howard Ivan Brown. His adventurous spirit led him to join the U.S. Navy in 1952, where he served as an Electrician Apprentice until 1955. After his service, he embarked on a journey to California, where he took on the role of a lumberjack alongside a shipmate, immersing himself in the natural beauty and thrill of the West Coast.
Upon his return to Orlando, Ronnie met the love of his life, Sandra Dollins. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1957, and together they raised a beautiful family with the births of their children Shafik, Ronald Wayne, and Christopher John.
Ronnie's career was marked by his dedication to electrifying homes and businesses. He started as an electrician at Curry Electric and later at Clark Electric before co-founding Semco Electric in 1974 with Charles “Todd” Mayo. His commitment to his craft lasted until his retirement.
Beyond his professional life, Ronnie was passionate about reading Classic Western Novels and enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and square dancing. He was known as the perfect older brother to his siblings Glenda, Donald, Sharon, and Albert, providing unwavering love and support to his family.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved mother Jewell, father Howard, step-father Juan Ramirez, and brother Donald. He is survived by his devoted wife Sandra, children Shafik (Jannice), Ronald Wayne (Leslie), and Christopher (Daniel Sergi), his sisters Glenda Miller and Sharon (William Sullivan), brother Albert, grandchildren Jacqueline, Tiffanie, Patrick, and MariaLinda, five great-grandchildren, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who will forever cherish his memory.
Ronnie's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed
