Ronald Everett Ayres, born November 19, 1937 in Appalachia, Virginia to James Russell Ayres and Audra Gambill Ayres, departed this earthly life on January 27, 2012 at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. Ronald graduated from Big Stone Gap High School in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and lived there until 1959 when his family moved to Orlando, Florida. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Nelle Ayres in Melbourne, Uncle Charles Gambill and wife Louise of Mission, Texas, brothers-in-law George W. Kirk in Orlando, and Stanley Swann in Lee, FL., Four nieces, Kim Ayres Arrigo, Kelly Ayres Allen, Karen Kirk, and Lisa Kirk Mills. And special nieces and a nephew who helped with his care for the past five years, Andrea, Alyssa, Natalie, and Naythan. Ronald was a member of Pine Hills Methodist Church in Orlando, FL prior to moving to Melbourne and becoming a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Ronald retired from Orange County Schools and had also received Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force. Ron spent the last ten years living in Melbourne with his brother James and his family. He was fascinated with National Geographic and the works of Stephen King. He loved watching the History channel and working crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his mother and father James and Audra, two sisters Margaret Ayres Kirk and Linda Ayres Swann. Private funeral services will be held in Orlando at Woodlawn Memorial Park where he will be interred. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha, FL.
